Party Down at the Farm

Our group of friends find any reason to party. Penny and Keith cleaned their barn for a party during the day so thought since the barn is all clean, why not have another party that evening? Splendid! It was one of those gorgeous summer evenings when the sky was clear and blue (not 'vaseline sky' as I like to call it) and there was a slight chill to the air when the sun set. Their barn is a beautiful bank barn built at least a hundred years ago. When buying their property at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, they were able to view the barn, but the woman selling did not let them in to see the house. OK by them, they loved the property and the barn. The house ended up being a 'burn down' and they built another farmhouse in its place.

The inside was indeed clean, no spider webs or bird poo. How dey do dat? My barn is always dirty and I sweep it nearly every week.

This is an old cider press that Penny says she'll get working so she can have an apple cider making party in the fall.

The peonies were in full bloom then (that's how long it's taken me to get this posted!)

Penny has a horse and Bev keeps her horse there so they can ride right from the farm to the trails around Sugarloaf.

And some of the guys fished in their stocked pond. Ed caught a bass but threw it back in. No sushi for us!
