River Run Shawl

My neighbor and Knitter Extraordinaire finished this shawl last week, just in time for the Maryland Sheep & Wool Fest. It's the River Run Shawl pattern available on Ravelry.

It's knit with one skein of my 'Biggie' yarn and one skein of Hustle for the trim.

The color we chose is Briar Patch, a blend of dark green, aubergine and fuscia with
Sorta Solid Fuscia trim.

Biggie…6 different yarns, chosen for their texture and how they take the dye.

Crunch Time

We are down to the wire now. This Saturday & Sunday is the Maryland Sheep & Wool Fest and we are bringing a heapalottabuncha fiber! Anne is labeling, organizing, packing and keeping me in line.

She packs crates like a pro. Samba alpaca yarn is ready for ya!

Michele is upstairs in the studio measuring fiber, putting kits together, packaging silk and doing every task I ask of her with a smile.

The studio is such a mess right now, but it's gotta get messy before it gets better. I'm taking nearly everything in the studio, so it's going to look like storm hit soon.

Trapper was exhausted just looking at us run around.

Baloo was right by my side all day, waiting for the next load to be put on the fence.

I filled up nearly the entire fence with freshly dyed yarn and roving.

Until it started to rain. We rushed out there and gathered up all the yarn and I could hardly see Michele!

Now that's a LOT of color!
I'll be posting more of the fabulous people that make up the team at Dancing Leaf Farm.

Keepin' It Real

I'm not sure why I do this, but I do. I'm getting ready for my biggest show of the year, Maryland Sheep & Wool Fest and I throw in a HUGE barn sale the week before.

Krista and I no longer have a shop to sell out of so we are downsizing.

We unpacked all our stuff from the cubby holes we had things stored.

We were truly amazed at how much we had! Granted, some things were from our own homes as we've been purging all winter. Also Krista's parents downsized from a huge house to smaller one so we have some of their things too.

But most of it is from our finds for our business, 'Chirp'.

We are having a part yard sale part vintage pop up shop this Saturday.

We have 6 stalls FULL of furniture, some unfinished, waiting to be refinished…

and some already done, ready to be taken home and loved.

We have a kid's corner

vintage linens and lots of burlap

chairs, chairs, chairs

old wooden things….crates, barrels

pretty white tables

colorful tables

lots of small tables

oops…already sold!

This is what I'm talkin' bout!

PLEASE come help us out!

and in my other life….this is what my studio looks like.

fiber everywhere

yarn everywhere

thank you Ikea bags! I got 20 more the other day

every table surface is covered

and this is what my fence looks like when it's not raining.

I run away from the chaos at times and look at this in my dining room. ahhhhhh
